How does it work?
RockStar Guitar is a team of exceptional guitar educators and performers who are passionate about passing on their love for the instrument to new students. We certify and background check each of our hand-selected instructors and help them connect with students both locally and online. Book a private lesson with an instructor in your area, or take lessons virtually from anywhere in the world, and have an expert guide you through the learning process.
How do I know my instructor is safe and qualified?
RockStar Guitar requires all teachers to submit a detailed application, complete an extensive interview, undergo a certification and review process, and pass a criminal background check. We make sure you’re learning from the most experienced and versatile guitarists in your city with years of teaching and performance experience!
What can I expect when I book my lessons?
Once you’ve booked your lessons, you’ll receive a welcome email as well as the details of your first lesson appointment. Your instructor will also be notified of your booking and will contact you to introduce themselves and learn more about your goals for the guitar. After you’ve received this info you’re all set to start on the day and time you reserved! For the best results, consistency is key. When you make your initial booking, that will be your time slot for all future lessons going forward so they’ll be no need to book additional appointments. Of course, if you do need to change your lesson time in the future, your instructor will be happy to assist you directly!
Are the lessons private?
Yes! We feel that one-on-one instruction is the best way to learn. Your instructor will custom tailor the lessons to your skill level and goals while also incorporating the RockStar Guitar method of song learning and technique building. Each instructor of the RockStar Guitar team teaches out of their own home studio space located in a residential area. RockStar Guitar diligently hand-picks each instructor of our team to ensure you’re learning from the best. All teaching spaces are directly reviewed by the RockStar Guitar team, and each instructor undergoes and extensive certification and background check process.
Do I need to have my own guitar in order to take a lesson?
In order the get the most of your lessons, it is important that you acquire your own instrument so that you can practice at home. In many cases, an instrument can be provided for you FOR THE FIRST LESSON only. This is not an instrument you will be able to take home with you, so acquiring your own instrument is REQUIRED for future lessons. Please check with your specific instructor concerning availability of instruments or contact us to find out more.

At RockStar Guitar, we aim to handle all the logistical work for students and teachers alike by overseeing the billing process to ensure that students are only billed when appropriate and that instructors receive compensation for their services. In addition, we ask that all new students put a credit or debit card on file with us for liability and verification purposes in the event of broken, lost, or stolen equipment from instructors of the RockStar Guitar team. The length of your lesson will depend on your preference and your age. We suggest younger students (12 or younger) take half hour lessons. If you are over this age or are a more advanced player, feel free to book an hour lesson. You can always change your lesson length at a later time if you feel it’s not right for you.
What ages of students can enroll in lessons?
We teach all students ages 5 and up!
How does billing work?
We offer a Pay-As-You-Go billing system that allows students to schedule lessons at any rate they’d like. You can schedule 30 minute lessons, 45 minute lessons, or 60 minute lessons with your instructor and you will be billed accordingly after each lesson has been completed.
